Note: Accounts with Team subscriptions can only allow employees to choose between English, Swedish Norwegian and Danish. Only administrators can see and edit the account settings.
In &frankly, there are two possible language settings available for each user:
- System language - lets each user decide which language they want to see in the web and app interface (menu, buttons, and so on). The available options are Swedish, English, Norwegian and Danish.
- Question language - lets each user select their preferred language for questions. All questions in the &frankly library are translated into 21 languages and you can also add translations when you create your own questions.
Under Account > Company settings, you can regulate language settings on an account level.
The settings make it possible for you to choose a default language that will apply to all users if no individual changes are made, or in cases when the translation that would have matched their preferred language is missing. You can also choose to lock the question language settings so that every employee will get the questions in the same language. See more detailed information regarding each setting below.
The language used for questions
One of the settings (the latter one) allows you to set a specific language for all users, or allow them to choose their own.
If you know that you, for example, only have Swedish-speaking employees, you can select Swedish and that will always be the language shown in questions. Although, we recommend you to allow employees to choose their own.
Default language
When you’ve selected Language used for questions, you also need to select a Default account language. This tells us (the system) which translation that should be displayed if the user has chosen a language that doesn’t match any of the translations you’ve added.
Say for example that the user selects French as their preferred language and that you haven’t added French translations to your questions. Which language should show then?
The Default language is also used to decide which language that should be shown for new users that haven’t selected their own language yet.
